Description
In 1974 IU President John W. Ryan charged a task force chaired by Prof. York Willbern to study university organization and make recommendations for reorganizing it. On June 19, 1974, the task force presented its report to Ryan, who incorporated some of its recommendations but substituted his own. Ryan submitted his own recommendations to the Board, which prompted approved them. The reorganization made IUPUI and IU-Bloomington co-equal "core" campuses.
