Abstract
This fact sheet summarizes Indiana traffic collisions involving commercial vehicles (CV) by examining collision characteristics as well as the types of vehicles and individuals involved. In 2015, 136 individuals were killed in commercial vehicle crashes. Collision severity, person type, personal injury status, restraint use, and other selected aspects of collisions are examined for CVs and other involved (non-CV) traffic units. The incidence of hazmat placards and releases in Indiana collisions is also noted.
