Abstract

Money is an awkward topic for most clergy. They hesitate to ask the congregation for contributions, in part because their own salary is involved. Possible alternatives include placing the responsibility for fund raising efforts in the hands of lay people. Clergy appeals for funds seem to work best when placed in a theological context of stewardship.
