In 1967 the Herron School of Art became a school of Indiana University and two years later, part of Indiana University Purdue University–Indianapolis (IUPUI).
The School's mission is to provide exceptional quality education for college students committed to careers in the visual arts, to increase the visual literacy of students and the community, and instill a greater understanding of the visual arts for non-art majors and the community.
