Together with the School of Informatics and Computing at IU Bloomington, the School of Informatics at Indianapolis (IUPUI) aims to lead the nation in creating a new, broad and interdisciplinary view of informatics and uses this viewpoint as the foundation for three foci: Education and Research; Economic Development and Entrepreneurship; and Diversity. In 2013 the School of Informatics merged with the IU School of Library and Information Science, and the name of the school was changed to the IU School of Informatics and Computing.
