Abstract:
JOIN HANDS DAY is a national day of service. The fifth JOIN HANDS DAY took
place on May 1, 2004, although some participants held their events on
different days due to weather or other conflicts. JOIN HANDS DAY
encourages people to form partnerships across generations and to build
understanding, respect, and trust while working together to help improve
their neighborhoods. It is sponsored by the members of the National
Fraternal Congress of America, collectively known as America’s Fraternal
Benefit Societies (AFBS), in association with the Points of Light Foundation
and the Volunteer Center National Network. This report is an evaluation of
JOIN HANDS DAY 2004.
