In 2008, dangerous driving actions were a contributing factor in 14 percent of all traffic collisions and 29 percent of fatal collisions in Indiana. This fact sheet provides summary data on Indiana traffic collisions involving dangerous driving, which includes aggressive driving, disregarding traffic signals, and speeding. Included are general trends in collision outcomes, the incidence of dangerous driving by vehicle type and driver age, alcohol involvement and safety equipment use rates, county level statistics, and economic cost estimates. Data are supplied by the Indiana State Police Automated Reporting Information Exchange System (ARIES), the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, and the Indiana Department of Transportation.en_US
