In 2013, 24,768 of the 193,013 traffic collisions (13 percent) that occurred in Indiana involved one or more actions defined as dangerous driving (aggressive driving, disregarding a signal, or speeding). About three-quarters of Indiana dangerous driving collisions typically involve excessive speed. This fact sheet summarizes Indiana dangerous driving data trends at state and county levels. The number of Indiana collisions involving dangerous driving increased for the first time since 2009. The rate of dangerous driving collisions per 1,000 total collisions also reached a five-year high of 128.3 per 1,000 in 2013.en_US
