This report for the Information for Indiana (IFI) Initiative discusses improvements that should be made to the Indiana property tax data system. Easily available information about property tax assessments and tax bills could make for better tax policy by the legislature and better administration of the tax and assessment system by state and local officials. It could also help taxpayers reduce their tax bills. IFI is a joint project led by the Office of the Governor, the Center for Urban Policy and the Environment, and the Indiana Business Research Center in cooperation with the Indiana Georgraphic Information Council, Purdue University, and Ball State University. For more about the IFI project, see the project website at www.ibrc.indiana.edu/ifien
